Development

its been a while since I last posted here and with good reason too! I’ve been super busy at work, helping to create this series of videos. I thought I’d do a quick post to explain a bit more in depth about what I do on these videos.

So in this series of videos, I help to shoot a lot of the plays. This means, playing the game until we get some action that we like the look of, then filming it as you would in the real world. So from 0:00 - 0:05, I put the cameras on those shots. This is the case throughout all 4 Gameplay series videos, working on a range of in-game (as everybody see the game) and also the replay cameras, as above.

In theory, the shots should be exciting, look great and make you want to play the game, which I think they do! They might be brief but they take a long time to perfect to make sure they work within the context of each video.

One of the most rewarding things that has happened so far has been that ACTUAL Manchester United emailed out a version of the Anthony Martial video in a mass email to all their subscribers which had several of my shots on. ACTUAL Manchester United! Here are a few pictures of where some of my shots have ended up!

The people at EA are incredible, some of the most talented people I’ve ever met and I know how lucky I am to be a part of their team. its been amazing to learn lots of new bits of software, hardware & workflows that go into making these incredible videos. In someways, its totally different way to make videos like I used to, but in someways its very similar.

Here are the other three videos to complete the series, Eden Hazard’s Physical Play video being the very latest, only being released today (July 19th). Enjoy!

In other news, I will hopefully be shooting some star trails this weekend! After seeing a friend shoot some, I’m dying to get out there and try it!
