OM-10

this week hasn’t included alot of shooting as we are winding up to our wedding and then to our trip to San fransisco & toronto (brace yourself for ALOT of photo updates). I’ve replenished my film stock, I have 11 rolls of 24exp Fuji C200 which I will aim to shoot when im away. I’m also going to take my Fuji x100 & my Canon 5D3 as its a once in a lifetime trip.

In the mean time, Ellie showed me her old film camera, an Olympus OM-10 which is really nice. The only problem was the shutter would’nt wind on properly. After having a quick look at it and a bit of research online, it turns out that dust and lack of use cause the electromagnet that assists the mirror in shutting again. I took some pictures of how to fix this problem.

Things you will need:

Isopropyl Alcohol, Cotton buds, Flat head Screwdriver, Sticky Tape.

Step one: get all your things

Step two: Stick some tape onto the bottom of the mirror to hold it up out of the way

Step Three: remove the plastic cover using the screwdriver

Step four: Wipe some of the alcohol onto the electromagnet (back left)

Step five: put it all back together again, wind it on and test it out!
