Seeing the Journey

Its getting close to the launch of our game FIFA 17 and with that comes the launch of the new feature, The Journey. I was lucky enough to work on the trailer for this feature and I think its a cracker.

We’ve been given some new lighting tools which have changed how we shoot footage now, making things super flexible in terms of how we approach angles & camera direction.

One of my favourite shots from this trailer is my shot of Alex Hunter coming on for Man City vs Real Madrid at the Centurylink Stadium in Seattle (which I visited this weekend).

This shot needed to emphasis the enormity of both the stadium and the situation Hunter was finding himself in, playing against probably the most famous football team in the world. I had to find a way of getting Cristiano Ronaldo into shot as I felt he was key in making the scene as exciting as possible. I also really like the separation of the player and the crowd using shadow, I really think this draws your eye to Hunter & CR7.

I have lots of other shots in the trailer which is incredible for me as I’m only coming up to my 5th month at EAV (EA Vancouver).
